Neighbor Shared Birthday Cake

Got a call from my neighbor yesterday. Today is her birthday and her husband ordered her an ice cream birthday cake. Her favorite cake.
Her daughter recently left for college. She is very proud of her, but sad at the same time. She is really missing her of course.
Another reason her husband tried to make her birthday extra special. So I went over to have a piece of cake with her.
Oh my goodness. This cake was the best. A friend of hers owns a bakery and made it for her.
It was made with ice cream sandwiches. I told her not to give me the recipe. Glad I went for a visit. She seemed happy.

A cake made out of ice cream sandwiches? It doesn't get any better than that! You're so lucky you got invited over to have some.
What college did her daughter head off to? Hopefully the University of Florida! haha

Good that you visited her and made her happy on her birthday. God bless her. She must be missing her daughter so much. My elder daughter will start college next year. And I already have that mixed feelings of excitement and fear of empty nest.
