Some days life life can get really hard but no matter what, we need to go on. We're on a ship in stormy weather and it's hard to know what to do but we must stay afloat. We have to find a way to go on. We have to reach within and reach out. This little poem expresses some of my thoughts and feelings. I said a prayer today There was so much to say It was my own way It was my own play The world is in a mess It’s hard to bear the stress I find it hard to dress And show some kindness I asked for more faith More patience to display Endurance to bear all And courage to go on Things don’t look so good And may get even worse To make it through the trials I’ll need more hope and love What do you do to cope with our troubled times?

Beautiful and thoughtful poem. My family and friends help me cope and so does a fast walk outdoors.

Coping with difficult times no matter what they are can be challenging. I try to have faith that eventually things will get better. To dwell completely on the negative only makes things worse, for life is life and it goes on with or without our participation in it. I keep myself busy, focus on positive things, and find peace in little things in life which make me happy.

@kanuck1 I am not super religious but a strong believer. I speak with God and pray for his guidance when troubled. I find it helps me cope and find peace. So in that way, God and prayer play a role.

Take life one day at a time, reminding myself that each day is a clean slate.

Yes, it is wise to take one day at the time. I also find that studying the past and making wise decisions for the future are also important ingredients for an easer and better tomorrow.

This is an excellent poem Ken and it sums up a lot of the way we all are feeling right now. People are tired. The world is a mess that is for sure. I can only pray.

Thanks! It is a simple poem about our difficult times. Yes, we are tired, frustrated with no human way out. Our salvation can only come from God so we need to keep praying.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, prayer and hope is important at any time but as you point out, especially in these troubled timed. If I was at sea and we were facing a storm, I would be praying even more than when the sea was calm.

I am as fine as I can be in these difficult times. It is not easy and so take time every day to do things to stay spiritually strong and close to God.

I try to remember that our life here is only passing, temporary, fleeting. This is not our true home. Heaven is the home of God's, as we all have homes too, and He brings souls back to himself to his home, as this was where they all began, and was their home too, until God, being a good parent, sent them out into other worlds, to find themselves within, and to grow up in ways that could not be done under God's roof, but must be done under a self-constructed roof, of being, which either limits you, or extends you, depending on how much love you have put into its construction. I just try to add more hope, and love, into my being, to construct an even better being of me tomorrow, than what I am living as today. Great poem, Ken, by the way.

@kanuck1 Yes, God still holds all of the answers within his hands, and so we should not let go of his hand either, and love makes that connection real, for us too.
