A friend's husband is waiting on an ICU bed in Washington DC

This is terrible. He is over 70 years old and has 11 stents and a pacemaker with defibrillator. He was taken to the hospital a couple of days ago with chest pain and tests eventually showed that he had had yet another heart attack. The Baltimore hospital tried to put another stent in but the procedure wasn't successful and there was nothing more they could do other than send him to a DC hospital for more advanced care. The problem is that ICU units are overrun with COVID patients. They also have the second challenge of resources preparing for potential violence in DC due to the rally to support the Jan 6 rioters. Her husband is in pain and in danger and can't get a placement in an ICU because so many vaccine-deniers are idiots and because those who support the Jan 6 rioters are idiots too. Insanity.
