A little bit of this, a little that

In the last week I have been given bell peppers and jalapeno peppers, so I decided I would use a pound of ground beef and make chili.
I had an open jar of pasta sauce in the fridge, but with enough seasoning it will do in the chili, and I will not have wasted anything.
I chopped in some onion and minced garlic. Chipoltle sea salt, cumin, chili powder It smells really good. Hubby is taking a nap while it simmers.
I am also doing my laundry from the week.
This feels like a really productive day.

I did not know I wanted it until my sister gave me some hamburger. Hubby will not eat spaghetti, so chili it is.

@rebelann The first time he ate pasta he threw up, so his mom served his spaghetti sauce on bread or potatoes.

I make turkey chili about 2-3 times a month. I’m the only one that eats it. I’ve used leftover jar sauce in mine too. Have not used fresh jalapeños in mine.

@GardenGerty I have a black bean soup that I make with fresh jalapeno peppers. I remove the seeds though. Don't need that much heat.

With just two of us things go a long way. Especially since hubby is not eating a lot. I did not use enough jalapeno to be a problem, for sure.

It was good. I have never learned how to just cook for two of us, so we still have more to eat.

I had chili for lunch at the Centre on Tuesday; it was awful. She must have dumped in a jar or two of sweet and sour sauce, because that's what it tasted like. Yours sounds so much tastier.

That does not sound good. Hubby had me add more tomato. I used the diced tomato with green chilies. The brand name one is Rotel, but I had a generic.

@BarBaraPrz You and I are much alike. Sounds like they need a new cook at the center.

@GardenGerty It wasn't good. I only managed half the bowl, and I'll eat just about anything because I hate to waste food.

I prefer the garlic to the onion, the onion doesn't agree with me.

I enjoy them both. I have to be careful not to do too much of the peppers.
