I was just reading in my usual haunt of late, MSN Start, about the highest-grossing movies. Tom Cruise movies, the third installment of Terminator(one of my all-time favorites trilogies of all time) and Beverly Hills Cop II, and even "The Passion of the Cross". I question why people like Cruise or why the Mel Gibson movie made it so big at the box office but what really gets me is the weird line-up of movies coming out now. They did Cinderella AGAIN a couple of years back, more stupid comedies, etc. Boring. Come to find out Cruise is doing still another MI and a lot of stupid comedies is about the only fare to choose from nowadays. About the only one, I look forward to seeing is Avatar 2 and they don't even have a release date for it yet. Hey, Ocean Tiara, if you read this please get ahold of me. I found a bunch of your emails in my archive file. Have been wondering about you. Back to the movie subject--I think that the movie industry is going down the tube BIG TIME. So many families now have home theatres and are still buying CDs( I don't, never have, and just go to Netflix). What do you think about this subject? When was the last time you went to a movie theatre? Even with the pandemic as an excuse I still think theatres are becoming obsolete.

I think that Ocean Tiara is around with another username now. I cannot even remember the last time I went to a movie theatre. I like the peace of my living room, so we buy DVDs from many years, we can re-watch as many times as we like, that is another advantage.

I went over the weekend, but the movie was just... okay. Not really worth the money I spent on the tickets and probably would have been just as entertaining at home. I am looking forward to seeing the new Dune movie in the theatre though... I think a lot of the impressiveness with the special effects won't be the same on the TV.

It's so expensive now. We have to have popcorn and a drink when we go too. Costs a lot. If we stay home it is much less.

@celticeagle I try to remind myself that the theatres don't make any money off of the ticket sales, they make it off of the concessions. We were able to get our popcorn and drinks for half price since my stepson was working and had the cashier give us his discount, and that was pretty nice.

I can't think of the last time I went to the movie theatre. They're too loud and dark,

I would rather stay at home and watch a movie that watch it at a theatre.
