My last gift. The skillet.

The last day I was with Dixie, we went for a walk near a big mall. I told Dixie that I needed a very small but good skillet that could be used either for a couple of eggs or for an omelette for me. No more. I wanted something that nobody would find attractive and thus borrowed it. We went to this apartment store and Dixie know exactly where the pots and pans were. And I started to check, compare prices and read instructions. I finally discovered the most expensive skillet they had. I did not understand much, but it had copper and titanium up to the lid. And it was so heavy that it could be used as a small weapon should the occation arise. I bought it. Last night I made a couple of eggs (they did not stick) and today, withouth washing it as it looked clean I made some fritters with the rest of the broccoli and the cauliflower. It was easier than easy to wash, just a mild detergent, and nothing got burned. I have had pans and skillets for 50 years. Now I will buy what my heart wants. My husband always told me to do it but I was too stingy. Now the covid has taught me that life is short.

I am glad you got an actual quality pan Marguicha. It will be worth it and yes a good handy weapon if the need arises.

I waited too many years with old pans that were past their prime. I have thought a lot about life with the covid pandemia and decided that I would not wait for any future.

@RebeccasFarm It isn“t the same as if I was buying jewels and furs for me. It is a small skillet..And better still, my daughter accepted my old one so I even recycled it.

@Tina30219 I never feel guilty when I buy things because I only buy the things I really need. This year I found and bought some awesome cotton sweaters. I did not feel guilty although I bought 4 colors. The "newest" sweaters I had were 25 years old.

Vince spends money on good pots and pans too. It's well worth it. He has a small skillet that he uses only for pancakes.

I will only use this wonder skillet for eggs and omelettes. The eggs slide there.

Copper distributes the heat evenly, so everything in the pan gets the same amount.

I had the best eggs and best fritters ever. And I could take them out of the pan with no problem.

@kobesbuddy I know. And in this pan, the eggs slide and even use less oil.

@marguicha It's frustrating when we fry something, then it sticks to the pan!

Now that we're older we buy what we want. There is no one to inherit our money except for my husband's sister; and he doesn't want her to get any money anyway! Good for you! Enjoy your skillet.

My 2 daughters are well off and they tell me to use my money in what I want. I do. But it is wonderful if what makes me completly happy is a small skillet that was less than US $20.

Honestly, learning it late is better than never learning it at all. I hope you love the skillet for as long as you own it.
