The Perfect Cone

Yesterday, my daughter and I had to make a necessary trip to mall. She has to buy a blouse for lunch on Saturday. She has been invited to meet with new personages from the UK, perhaps on her capacity as an urbanist/environmentalist.
Never had we bought any wear during the long pandemia. All clothes worn, and believe it, shirts are tattered.
Not much to do at a coffee kiosk where I was seated all the duration of clothes picking, I indulged my self with 'selfies.' Glad only a few people walked the almost hallowed grounds where children used to shriek. I kinda like it that way. Quiet. Thus, the selfie. Meant to upload one for this post.
But nah! My daughter came with a brown shopping bag saying our Veep Leni has filed her candidacy for the presidency of the land. And the gentle lady has worn a pink ribbon against her blue blouse. So, my daughter took it upon her self to buy pink ribbons and pink masks also. Ha ha.
And she showed me social media posts from her friends that even Batman is colored pink!
Almost reduced me to tears. It had been a long time coming. Five years of despotic rule has almost stripped the Filipino of dignity. Now, the Filipino is about to redeem that dignity, under the leadership of Leni, a reluctant politician whose only desire is to serve those at the fringes of society.
Leni once walked the rice fields and waited for the farmer to complete his tasks tilling the soil so she could render him legal advice. Leni endured the elements with a farmer's hut to keep her cool.
Leni once slept on a fishing boat because she had to catch the fisher folks after they pull a heavy haul from the sea. Just to explain to them their basic rights under the law.
Yes, the once shy Leni was the only woman standing amid a jail full of men telling the hardened criminals of their chances to reform and come back to society.
All those before she became the 'lambasted veep' left with no funds to run her office. Yet, she delivered via the help of volunteers and donors, helping the marginalized, coming to aid of those severely affected by disasters, braving the war-thorn Marawi checking the plight of the people displaced.
Leni hails from Bicol, a province that prides its people of the world's perfect cone - the Mayon Volcano.
Yesterday, that volcano changed its colors to pink - signifying the dawning of a new day, because one of its own has the courage to fight for the country. LENI.

@eileenleyva True especially her opponents are really trying to mask themselves as opposition but they are as good as wolves in sheeps clothing. They can deceivingly coat themselves as anti admin but if you look how they were during this admins term they were part of how this admin performed.

@eileenleyva I hope many learned their lessons well from the past and many are already enlightened from their mistakes. I can see some of them had change of heart but l can still see some who remained fanatics.

@rsa101 By now, Filipinos should have learned from the destructive idolatry politics like what the monster of the leadership had shown this past five years. Filipinos cannot remain dumb forever. Just accept the money and vote the right candidate in the ballot.
The Bato filed candidacy, can you believe it? That was the tactic that was used to deceive the people before. Then at the last minute they will switch.... Grrrrr.

@Shavkat Leni is the only one who worked this past five years for the people. She delivered the food and the clothing and the medicine to those affected by the flood. She saw to it the front liners had not only protective gears but also rides to and fro the hospitals. And she provided the packed food so the doctors and the nurses wouldn't collapse.
The best thing is that she is the only one who never stole from the coffers of the country.
We are blessed to have a Leni willing to sacrifice for us. #LetLeniLead2022

Elections will be held May 2022.
Yup, Leni will win! The clamor for her to run for the presidency was overwhelming.

@RebeccasFarm The campaign trail to get to the farthest and almost indigenous communities is long and winding.
My daughter enlisted her self to help by January. The most forlorn of far-flung places must be educated and given hope.

In the beginning, Veep Leni was stashed away like an unwanted child and her office was deprived of funds. Why? She simply voiced her vehemence against the Operation Tukhang that meant to kill as many poor people in the country. She automatically received a notice of termination to cease and desist attending the executive's cabinet meetings.
What happened next was providential. Volunteers came to aid as Veep Leni visited the poorest of the poor. Donors gave funds to alleviate her cause as mounting problems piled from one natural disaster to another. Before long, Leni was at nook and cranny giving food and clothes, health kits to as far as war-torn Marawi. She walked in slippers, hopped on boats, knocked on doors even if there literally is no door. She talked and embraced the people. When the pandemia hit, she was the lone wolf brave enough to spear head the necessary measures to help the front liners. And the poor people she helped before sewed protective gears as quickly as she delivered those to nurses and medical crews.
Yes, Leni is a wonderful woman. God-sent.

@JudyEv Yes, Leni will and she will yet show the world how a Filipino woman can juggle work and care for the home neat and clean. There's something about Leni, her sincerity perhaps, or her seeming natural affectation for the people. I saw the 'natural touch' once before - in the person of Princess Diana who hugged the sick and embraced the shabby children.
Leni is a lawyer by profession. She knows the law. That is her advantage.

Pretty in pink!
Color has no direct translation in the vernacular.
Ain't it brilliant!
