This is my lunch today, we called it Rames rice. Why like that cos its rice with some side dish. I had corn type vermicwlli with veggie, eggs as protein and veggie saute. Top with chilly. This is typical Indonesian lunch. As i di not eat too much rice, so i had 2 kinds of carbo as my lunch :rice and corn type vermicelli. What is typical lunch in your country?

I don't really know what is typical in Australia. We have such a lot of cultures and such a range of lunchtime dishes. Once it would have been sandwiches or rolls.

@porwest That's exactly how it is. The various nationalities do tend to congregate in particular areas which isn't necessarily a good thing.

It's a bit like that here being the melting pot we are, which I assume Australia is as well. I mean, there are certainly things here considered very American, but we eat so many different ethnic cuisines it's hard to say what's "typical."

@marlina in here, rice a main dish. Usually I eat once a day, but family must eat rice. For most Indonesian, even if they eat rice porridge, they still feel not yet eat, if still not eat steam rice :-D

Here as you know Americans usually eat Hamburgers or Cheeseburgers for lunch. Not me though.

Yes, I am well aware. Even Rames rice is typical lunch for us, I also rarely eat that, cos rice has many sugar. so usually I prefer other than rice for lunch
