We have different weekends here

Four states in Malaysia have Friday and Saturday as weekends. Meanwhile the rest would have Saturday and Sunday as weekends. But sometimes the company would follow the work days of the main company, no matter which states you work in. For example, my company would have Saturday and Sunday as weekends despite working in the state where Friday and Saturday are the weekends. Sometimes I would received calls and emails during the weekends asking to do this and that from company that work while we're having our weekends. This weekend is no exception as well. Received call not too long ago asking me to register a few items into the system. I told the caller I would check once I return from the town. I am already home but I think I would check it tomorrow.

That is interesting, I always thought that weekends were Saturday and Sunday everywhere.

@prinzcy yes in gulf countries they have an off on Fridays and I don't know if they have on Saturdays.

This may be because your customer may be having weekends the same as you have.

@allknowing yes, got used to it. It's easier too. If I need to go the government offices, I can do that on Sunday without applying for a leave.

So they work half the employees one way and the rest the other? If everyone is on the same schedule then how do they think someone will want to work on their work weekends?

Oh! That can be confusing. And your weekends might not be same as your family if you are staying in one state and working for the company in other state.

@prinzcy It becomes challenging then to have a weekend family time together. But it's good that Saturday would be a common day and such families can plan for fun together on Saturday.

that is an interesting case, becuase of my job I get calls often on the weekends. but the US is pretty much one weekend.
