I'm Getting A Raise!

United States
October 13, 2021 3:18pm CST
Social Security Administration has announced the COLA increase for 2022. It will be a 5.9% raise which is much better (well, to me it is) than last year's increase of 1.3%. Since I began receiving widow's benefit 8 years ago, there have been a few years in which there was no increase. So, I really cannot complain about this next raise. Here is the link to their Press Release::

Yes that is good glad to hear it. I am sure your rent will go up too though. That is what is happening here, so the extra money goes nowhere.

My rent is based on my income so I can count on it going up by 5 to 10 dollars. Maybe even a tad bit more. Even if I max out for the rent, it is doable for me. Thank goodness all the utilities are included.

@RebeccasFarm If I had to pay utilites, too, I wouldn't have any extra to try to save.

Yepper. This is the largest increase, though, since 1982.

My rent goes up the first of the year, which will no doubt take care of the increase. It never fails, every time we get an increase, something essential goes up in price.
