Water Country 2021

Another very late post.. and it's a long one.
A week after my birthday, the fiance and I woke up early and took the drive from here (Mass, USA) to Water Country (New Hampshire, USA).
It was the first time I had ever been, and first time since years before we met that he had been. So it was exciting. As I couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about, and to make more memories with him.
We had no problems finding our way there, got there about 20 or so minutes before they opened, and it was sunny but not too hot.
First thing we did once inside was go to the bathroom from the longish car ride. The second was we got our locker for all our belongings. Then we just walked around to see what they had and what was going to be open, because due to short staffing not everything could be opened.
The first slide we went on was a 2-4 person tube, as there was hardly a line for it. And since we didn't go with anyone, it was just us on it. Just how we like it. Lol. It was scary for me, as I had hardly been on water rides before this and it was 7-8years ago that I had. But it was fun and we did want to do it again, but after we got off there was a huge line! Guess everyone was awake and there now lol.
I think all the rides we went on were 2 person rides, actually. Because I'm scared to go on with him, nevermind without. And he can't see well without his glasses. Though we both kept eyeing one or two single rider rides. No guts I guess.
We never stopped to get a drink or see what time it was until we had been there 2-2.5 hours. Which was nice. We just enjoyed our time without any care. Which was also thanks to not having phones on us! (Wish more days were like that).
However, I did end up giving in and buying a waterproof pouch about two hours before we left to put my phone in to take some pictures and videos of us in the lazy river and wave pool. (Both of which was our favorite things there to do). And I'm glad I bought it. He also bought googles for the two things, but hardly used them lol.
We did have two issues when we were there. Or well, three.. the first was about two hours after we got there the ground finally started getting really hot. So it was becoming very painful to not be in the water, probablypart of why we enjoyed the lazy river and wave pool so much lol. And we agreed next time we went, if we did, we both needed water shoes! Which I went to buy for me at five below before we went but they didnt have any for him so I didn't as didn't think it'd be fair. And we didn't want to pay the prices they had for theirs, ugh.
The second was we got stuck on one of the rides! As it has you go into like a tunnel thing, and you go around and around until you finally go into a hole to get out. And we stopped moving before the hole and had to push ourselves to it.
And the third issue was the in the dark ride. As it was definitely more scary not being able to see a single thing. Especially the water splashing up into your face and all the turns. And the way we landed into the pool from the slide was just awful.
Oh wait.. there's a fourth issue.. one of the slides went straight down when you started it, and it went so fast that when we landed in the pool and tried to get up I guess I made it so the fiance fell onto the stairs and scraped up his leg.
We also fought a little once it got too hot, and the slides all had too long of lines to do any a second time. But all in all we both had alot of fun, and he kissed me alot which he doesn't usually do in public anymore, as well as he held me alot in the wave pool so I wouldn't drown.
Then since we never ate until after we left from us both having our stomach problems and not wanting to risk it.. as soon as we left he went to dunkin and got a sandwich and coffee for himself and a blue raspberry coolatta for me. Then we went to a pizza hut we saw on our way to Water Country, as it was on our way back to the highway. And those who know me know if I see one I have to go to it.
Photo is mine. I took it in the car on our way home. My first and only sunburn all summer. Though it was much worse than just whats in the picture lol.

@FayeHazel aw thanks. I've heard that a few times from people.. maybe one day I'll see differently but doubt it.
Definitely. Especially when you agree to it and they dont. Ugh.

@Courtlynn I wish you could see you from my eyes :-)
Ah. Yes. It's hard when you're trying to get a "sane" break but others can't leave their phones out of it, too *sigh*

Apparently it does. As well as really cold and snowy in the winter. (My grandma lives there and always sending snow pictures)

@Courtlynn I think that New Hampshire has a super high mountain so yes to snow and cold in the winter.

I did. He was burnt pretty good too especially since he's whiter than me lol. His poor feet were soo red and he had yellow stuff on top of his head. We brought sunscreen but didn't use it. He said not doing that again lol

We don't feel good 95% of our days. So it was a very good day for us, even with the few annoyances.

I never needed them in my life. Not even when we went to six flags' water park. But definitely will get them before going again if I do

I swear I read this but maybe it was just a post about it on Facebook I read because I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to see your posts both places and have such a wonderful friend like you!
Pretty much anytime I go anywhere going to the bathroom is what I have to do
. Not as easy with the baby so I don’t drink as much as I used to when I’m out. Now that I’m not pregnant I stopped peeing myself
.
The amusement park I always took my kids to was very short on staff as well my mother said so many of the rides my niece and nephew wanted to go on weren’t open
.
I think it’s boring to ride rides alone. As kids my sister and I always went on together. When she wasn’t around it wasn’t very fun.

@Courtlynn I peed myself once when I was pregnant with my daughter. During delivery she tore into my bladder which weakened it. The varicose veins I had down there during this pregnancy made me pee myself a lot. Once she went breech it took the pressure off down there and the veins got better so it didn’t happen much. Hasn’t happened at all since she was born.

Maybe you read it here after ai posted it then got distracted. I've done that too many times lol. But definitely showed pictures and videos of going on fb when we went.
Omg lol. I don't think I ever did that pregnant. Though have a few times since then lol.
Yeah everywhere had been open but short staffed and its more annoying at theme parks with paying all that money then going and not being able to do certain things.
I agree fun with others.

Wow, that was a long post! But it sounds like overall you had a great time, despite the little snafus while at the water park. So glad you had a good time! I'm sure you created some nice memories with your fiancé.
