It got me in the end!

I'm sure there must be many covid discussions here but I haven't been here for a while and this is about my experience. I had two doses of Astrazeneca with no reaction but last month my 14 year old granddaughter brought it home from school so I kind of knew I was doomed! Her symptoms were a bad headache, high temperature and frequent cough but mine were completely different. I had a head cold, slight cough and body aches. Make no mistake I felt rough for a few days but within a week it was over and I truly believe the vaccine protected me from serious illness. I'm glad it's over and relieved it was mild as I'm not young. I hope everyone here has had their jabs.

Welcome back Linda! I am so sorry you got the virus, at least you did not need to be hospitalized, I wonder when we will finally get rid of this thing.

Yes it has been bad in the UK since September since the schools went back and I knew I stood little chance of avoiding it but it was very quick and mild for both of us and it's a relief that it's over with now.

@LadyDuck Did he! I knew he had it at the beginning of the pandemic and knew there were a few who have had it more than once. I have a friend who is a nurse and she got it in March 2020 but although she is in contact with it a lot she has never had it again.

@Nawsheen I don't think we have that here. Britain refused it although it has proved to be a good vaccine.

Same as me. Which one did you have? I am having my booster tomorrow and I'm told it will be Pfizer or Moderna.

@allknowing You mean lazy! I tire of sites very easily and I don't do it for money as I am financially stable so it's not as important to me as to some. I always go to ForumCoin though even if I don't post.

I tend to take long breaks and then someone will say something on Forumcoin and I take a look to see what's going on. If I don't spend long periods of time here I might last a bit longer.

Yes, I had 2 Pfizer shots, I am so glad that you had the vaccines too, so it was a lot less hard on you.

Yup! For some people the symptoms are fairly mild but you never know what will happen when you catch it. I'm glad you're both okay. I've missed you around here!

I've had a really tough time with Teagan. She's been a difficult teenager and most of my time has been taken up trying to control her although she seems to be coming out the other side. She'll be 15 next month!

@DaddyEvil Teagan was awful when she was 13. One night she came in really drunk and was sick all over the bedroom. She hasn't done it since though and said she felt frightened and out of control so hopefully she will wait before she has another little tipple! She had a boyfriend which lasted over a year but the relationship has recently ended so she has been upset and it has affected her schoolwork. I think she'll be ok though.

@sprite1950 I'm glad things are getting better for you. I hope they continue to stay good. I had trouble with Pretty, too... and she started when she was around 15. She'd deliberately do things to upset me and get her mom upset with things going on at my house. (I got full custody when Pretty was 13.)

What is a 'head cold', please? I've never encountered this term.

It means you have a virus which affects the upper respiratory tract. Stuffy nose, unable to breathe properly. Just the common cold really but we often refer to it as a head cold.

Thanks. I was kind of scared when I did the lateral flow test and saw 2 pinks lines but it's over now.

Glad you are ok. In our country verry few trust the vaccine (any) or believe in the illeness. Maybe this is why at this moment looks like we are in Europe's top of new casses.
