Last night I fell asleep to hubby's laughter. He had called buddy back and wow were they on a roll, sharing jokes back and forth. This is the buddy that I last saw when daughter was maybe newly born. She's in her mid forties now. So its a reunion.
And I heard hubby mention Thanksgiving. I knew what was up. He invited buddy over for T day. It sounds like buddy accepted. It will be around a two hour drive so hubby told him to either come here on Wednesday night and stay over or don't go home after eating on T day. And hubby has brewed a little batch of beer. He wants to show that off. Oh boy there. We have room. Buddy likes dogs- Blue Heelers, too- and loves cats. Perfect guest. Buddy is creative and good hearted. If he shows up it should be a good time for all of us. We have not had a guest for our T Day table in over ten years. Usually its just hubby, me, and the fur kids.

Hopefully, your husband's friend does show up and all goes well.
It's the same here for the holidays-- hubby, myself, and the fuzzies.

@sallypup Cats don't really do begging. They like to think that they are much too dignified for such behavior.

@wilsongoddard Then you have not been around my Sonny James cat. He taught himself to sit up on his rather furry rump and beg. Not joking. He sits up and waves his chubby arm at me. If I am in my living room chair and ignore him, he reaches out with a claw.
