So lately I often travel without carrying cash, when I go around town or go to the mall I only carry digital money on my smartphone, this is much more efficient because I don't have to bother carrying a wallet. what about you guys prefer to carry cash or digital money?

Does your government/police allow you to show them digital ID if you get pulled over in a traffic stop? If not, then you still have to carry a wallet. How safe is your digital money? If the wallet is on your phone, then it's not safe because it's easy to hijack a phone. At least with actual cash, the thief actually has to physically take it from you.

I used mobile phone wallet, it protect your mobile phone and at same time, can insert several cards into it. So yeah, I did not carry anymore wallet for money

I only bring my identity card when I travel, is it safe? the digital world is far from safe, I agree that piracy is possible, I am always careful about that and always fill my digital wallet balance with a small amount of money.

I very rarely use cash. I like to when I can, but other ways are more convenient. I don't have a digital wallet or any of the paying apps on my phone, though. I tend to use a card. It's easier for several reasons - one of them being that our nearest cash machines charge for taking money out so, unless I happen to be in town or somewhere with free cash withdrawals, it would cost me more to use cash. Another reason being that I don't like to carry large amounts of cash but don't always know how much I'm going to spend.

@Roviansyah The use of cards has been common for most people here in the UK for a long time. Since the pandemic, more and more shops have been card only but many were already that way. The paying apps seem to be getting more common with young adults, though.

where I live in the suburbs, not too many people use cards, usually only people with upper middle class economy have cards, and most of them are middle class or lower middle class, so the use of digital wallets is quite a lot because of efficiency when shopping online or to mall.

@pumpkinjam yes I am not surprised because there is a developed country. Indonesia is similar to China, many people prefer to use digital money, maybe because the most popular digital wallet companies here are Chinese companies

I am old fashion and prefer cash. For the big shops I use a card, but for a walk and anything bought spontaneous I use cash.

yes that's also good, people around me are also still using the old way, but I think in the next few years things will change about cash and digital
