Found edible mushrooms in a nature sanctuary

During our stay in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania we went to a nature sanctuary. We were hiking some trails and ended up spotting many mushrooms. Actually hubby was the one that spotted the first one. I did not expect to find any, let alone the ones you can actually eat, but we did. It was very exciting. If hubby and I didn't have someone else with us on the hike I would have spend more time looking for them. Probably would've found more. The mushrooms we found are called maslyata in Russian. Google translate tells me in English they are called boletus. Not sure if that is a correct translation. When I brought the mushrooms to the house where we were staying, I washed them and boiled them with some onion to make sure they are all edible. They were. Then the next day I fried them up in a skillet, adding some diced onions towards the end. They turned out really good. Had them for breakfast along with a bagel that had hot dog sausages, and slices of red radish inside. It was a delicious breakfast.

Boletus is the correct name for those mushrooms, we call them "porcini" or "boleti" in Italy and they are very good.

I've seen the word porcini used in menu dish descriptions when I went out to eat.

you and your hubby are gifted in identifying the edible mushrooms. If I look at them I wont be able to make the difference.

I would be nervous to pick anything from the wild, not wanting to risk accidently getting something poisoness.

I fried them with some onion. Didn’t think to put in a salad.
