I have decided I really need a new mattress. I couldn't even tell you how long I have had this one. it was a good brand, but they don't last forever. it just isn't comfortable to sleep on. What brand do you like? I would like something reasonably priced and comfortable. There was a store where I wanted to get it, but unfortunately, that location must have closed now they are saying the closest one is in Petersburg. That is closer to North Carolina than here. I can imagine what the delivery charge would be..no Thanks. I will need to find another place,,,free delivery would be awesome! I doubt anybody does that anymore though.

I know that today it seems such a dilemma to find a good mattress..good luck. In the end, the last time, which was about 7 years ago, I bought our mattresses off Amazon through an American company..they are good and have lasted. They are not top of the line though that is for sure.

I want someone to haul away my old mattress. If worse comes to worse I could order one online I guess. I think that is something you really need to try out though first if it at all possible. I might be able to get a local thrifstore place to pick this one up...but don't know..it isn't in fantastic shape. Hey if they won't take that, maybe i can get them to take a computer monitor..

@snowy22315 Yes I am sure someone will haul that for you. The ones I got are American made and have springs and memory foam and come in different firmness. They really are amazing for the price I paid. No smell from the memory foam either. Yes maybe somewhere around there will have some you can try.

I bought our mattress at IKEA and it has been a very good mattress. I turned it right this morning, from "summer side" to "winter side" and I was thinking that it's time to change it. I will go to their store and try the mattress before ordering a new one.

I never thought of IKEA, that might be a good place. However, I don't think they do delivery.

@snowy22315 IKEA delivers here in Switzerland, we can also ask to assemble what we buy, it is not free, but it does not cost a lot.

We purchased our most recent one online. It is rather comfortable, and it has held up fairly well considering that it was relatively cheap.

@snowy22315 I found the selection process to be fairly easy in terms of finding the right firmness, too. It was the first time that I'd purchased a mattress online, so I was pleasantly surprised that things worked out relatively well.

All I know is that it’s a bigger bait-and-switch scam that car dealers. They have signs out there, “New mattresses for $299!” But when you walk in you can’t find anything for under two grand. I bought a memory foam mattress with an adjustable frame a few years ago. Cost me $4K, and worth every penny.

I assure you I won't be spending 4k on a mattress! Just something that is reasonably comfortable and is a well respected brand at a decent price. That is where reading reviews come in.

I haven't purchased a mattress in years but also need a new one. Would you just buy a mattress online without trying it?

I wouldn't no. Besides I need someone to haul the old mattress out of here. I could probably only arrange that with a delivery.

@Marilynda1225 They have haul away for appliances, so I am sure I could get someone to pick up an old matress..If not, I will get the trash service offered here for a couple months and get big item pick up.

@snowy22315 sometimes getting rid of old stuff is as difficult as getting new stuff. Hopefully whomever delivers the new mattress will take the old one.

I was going to make some calls earlier this morning, but the mattress sellers weren't open yet..Maybe they are too busy sleeping on comfortable mattresses...lol.

Yes, I wouldn't buy one without checking it out first.
