Have you ever tried Etsy?

Hello, everyone. I heard of Etsy before, but I never tried being a Etsy seller because I'm not sure what I should sell, and there are so many products on there including dresses, shoes, clothing, candles, notebooks, journals, and several more. I think that I should write poems and sell them online as digital downloads. I've gotten better at writing, but there is always room for improvements. What do you recommend I do before selling on Etsy? Have you ever sold anything on Etsy? I also heard that eBay is very good for selling items but I'm not sure if it would be good for digital downloads.

I am on Amazon.com, but never tried Etsy. I've tried Ebay as well. You can post on all sites and dscover what could work best for your product because the outcome could also depend on the type of your product. Just an unsolicited advice, you can take or leave it. No offense meant. lol

Thank you for the valuable information. I completely agree with you that the product outcome depends on your product type. It’s good to try different websites and see what works best and what doesn’t.

I have never sold on Etsy but it is a wonderful site to browse and find the unusual. Good luck on there now if you decide to sell the poetry.

Etsy has a lot of unique creative products. Have you found any unusual products on there that you really like? Good luck to you as well if you sell on Etsy in the future. Have a great day.

May I ask your age, please? My daughter, PrettyEvil, used to sell different kinds of things on Etsy. At one time she sold bamboo ear spacers of different diameters, homemade soap and homemade bath salts. After we moved three years ago she quite selling there.

@t100068 Okay. I had a huge stand of Green Stripe Bamboo at our last house. We couldn't bring any with us when we moved. It was the wrong time of year to move any of it. (Later, I'll have to buy some again and start another grove of it.) I don't know why she stopped selling the other stuff there. She's an adult so it's her choice.

@DaddyEvil I read that Green stripe Bamboos are plants. Are Green stripe bamboos easy to plant? Hopefully, she had amazing success on Etsy when she was an Etsy seller.

I don’t feel comfortable sharing my age. Bamboo ear spacers and homemade soap and homemade bath salts sound interesting.

So, Etsy has a website and an app on the app store. Best wishes to you as a future Etsy seller.

Wow, you must be really good at writing poems. Now, will there be lots of customers buying poems there though? Just curious.

I’m not good at writing poems but I will make sure that my poem writing has improved before I sell any poems on the website. I’m not sure if there a lot of customers buying poems but there is a variety of poems on there.

Hello, Etsy is an online shop with a lot of diversity in terms of what is sold. Regular products on Etsy are shipped, and digital downloads on Etsy are not shipped because they are downloaded directly to the computer.

From a buyer's perspective: On ebay things are much cheaper compared to Etsy. Just because of the huge price difference I prefer to buy from Ebay or Amazon.

What did you think about it? I think that Etsy can be done in several countries, several states, and other parts of the world. There's more information about it on the internet.

I've been on Etsy, but it's confusing and they kept changing their policies/layout, so I quit. I did sell counted cross stitch patterns that were digital downloads, and there was never a problem when they sold.

Etsy does a lot of digital downloads for a variety of things. Browse Etsy and see if anyone is selling something similar and get an idea of what to charge, etc.
