A drag of a bag

Almost every woman now carries a huge handbag and I have no idea why they fell for such a ridiculous fashion fad. As a woman I know that the bigger the bag the more we fill it, so these massive bags are probably as heavy and cumbersome as they look. Are they really necessary or are we just filling someone’s pocket as we stuff the kitchen sink in our handbags?

I have never liked the big handbags personally.

It amazes me that they have become so popular. Necessary even. Some handbags are big enough to use as a suitcase. They must cost quite a lot too. Personally I prefer something smaller, cheaper and easily dispensed with annually.

My daughter, Pretty, doesn't even own a purse. I carry her government ID and insurance cards in my wallet. She doesn't go anywhere without me, so it doesn't matter... She doesn't use makeup so doesn't need a purse for that, either.

I hate carrying bags. Most of the times I try to put my stuffs in my pockets (just my phone and purse).

It seems you could manage with just a small one. But I agree as I like to keep my hands free. That means a shoulder bag and this is where the drag occurs....

I bought a medium size bag a few years ago that is perfect. It has many pockets with zippers so that I know exactly where everything is. But lately, I use a bag at my belt and I have only a few things there.

Knowing exactly where everything is must the key to getting the best out of a bag. I love one with lots of zips too but I am not so good at putting things in the same place twice. So I unzip a lot....

@41Combedaleroad I’m afraid to look in my wife’s handbag but it’s not all that big thankfully. Even so it’s remarkable how much gets squirrelled away in there

Men should not look into women's handbags anyway, so maybe your fear of what you might see is a good thing.

I don't carry a heavy or big unless I really need to carry so many things. My sling bag with mobile, wallet, keys and a tissue pack is good for me

sounds a good solution to me. I have a sling bag but it contains more than yours, so it can get heavy.

I feel quite disgusted with myself on the rare occasions I turn out my bag. I can't even remember putting some of the stuff in there but if I feel that a bigger bad is safer to hold my belongings. It would take a thief a lifetime to get to the bottom of it!

I've seen those oversized handbags and wonder the same thing myself...what in the world do you carry? For me I've gone to a small crossbody bag that carries my essentials (wallet, mask and phone). Rarely do I go anywhere that I need more than that.

Mine is medium-size. I don't put much in it. It's mostly empty except on Sunday. My Bible fits perfectly in it.
