My Christmas Shopping Days are Over. Perfect Timing!

Well first the pandemic robbed us of our holiday gatherings. Now, according to the news, high prices are going to seriously impact our holiday shopping. Especially for Christmas gifts. Honestly! Sometimes i wonder if there's a conspiracy to make up Scrooge-like Bah Humbug stories just to get everybody down. Anyway! I was listening to the local news report. Our news team have such a relaxed casual attitude. I mean ... they seriously report the news. But in between, they make jokes with each other and talk about their everyday lives. It sort of takes "the edge" off of listening to those serious news reports. So, the weather news lady mentioned that she had already started her Christmas shopping. She said she heard the news about high prices and shortages and she didn't want to take any chances. I thought to myself: "I'm glad my Christmas shopping days are over." When my kids were little I really enjoyed holiday shopping ... for the meal and for the gifts. It was part of the holiday fun!! But they are all grown now and I don't do it any more. So it's perfect timing for me. If holiday shopping is going to be stressful, I won't be stressed about it because I won't be fighting the crowds, paying high prices, and becoming disappointed because the gift I wanted to buy is still in a shipping container, sitting in the sea! What about you? Are you looking forward to paying high prices and having to hunt for gifts?

We do not celebrate Christmas but we give each other gifts for New Years in my family. I won't be buying anything for anyone unless the price is right.

I bought the only gift that we have to buy -- a personalized mug for our housekeeper. Now I only need to get a Walmart gift card for her which is easy to buy.

I don't christmas shop anymore, either. My husband and I will send our round of cards, but that's about as far as we go.

We have very few to buy for these last few years so it won't be too much of a problem.

Never a worry for me anymore either. Yes the news stories are designed to be dreadful.
