A very beautiful and romantic song is "You Belong to Me." It became a popular music ballad from the 1950s. The song is recognizable by its opening line "See the pyramids along the Nile." It was published in 1952 and its most popular version is sung by Jo Stafford who got the song to number one on both the US and UK singles charts.

@CarolDM — no, it’s not the same song. The Jo Stafford song was written by Pee Wee King and Redd Stewart, and Carly Simon and Michael McDonald wrote the one she had the hit with.

Written by Pee Wee King and Redd Stewart, the people who gave us “Tennessee Waltz”! Love this song. Jim Reeves did a cover of it, and of course I gravitate to that version; however, I enjoy Patsy Cline’s rendition as well as Jo Stafford’s big hit version.
