What is love?

"Together with these things, the most important part of your new life is to love each other. Love is what holds everything together in perfect unity." (Colossians 3:14-ERV) It could be said: Love people and use things, instead of loving things and using people. When love is defined it is only confined. What is love? What comes to our mind when you think of love? What is your definition of love?

Love for me is something you feel and do. It comes from the heart and soul. It is one of our most powerful emotions.

Yes, that is so true and that is why I included a scripture. Can you share any other thoughts on the subject?

That's a very good question. One I wish I had an answer to.

@kanuck1 When it comes to matters of personal opinion, including love, there is no easy, or "right" answer. Everyone's entitled to their personal thoughts and feelings on the subject.

Even if you don't have a perfect answer, can you share any thoughts that come into your mind when you think of love?

Love is simply two hearts beating as one, and when you love, you become one heart, seamlessly attached together then too. Love is something that never pretends. It is living truth. Love can never pretend, so if you think that you are pretending, you have abandoned love for the pretence, which you think you are, but who you really never are. The pretender is a false self, and we should never identify with it. Our real self is built from the same love as which is God.

Nicely put! Since God made us in his image, when we show love for all, then we are a good reflection for God. Love to you and love to all!

@kanuck1 Yes, when we really show love to someone, they can really see God shining out of us too, reflecting his love through our focus point, and reaching into their heart too, with that special touch of love that only love can achieve.
