Update from the Doctor

Hello again, As some of you had seen I went to the hospital on Saturday to get a CT done and hopefully see why I am getting so many migraines for so many years. Those that have been reading my post since I have been here know that over the years, I have tried many doctors/specialists and have had all kinds of test done and they never can seem to find out what or why I get them. So, they were coming a lot again and I thought I would give yet another one a chance and see what they could find out. At least this way I could get more meds to try and help. So, as I said I did hear back from the doctor’s office today and well….. I found out the same thing I always do, they didn’t find anything. They said to stay on the meds that he prescribed, and I do have another appointment on the 30th. We will see how much it did or didn’t help the high blood pressure and see how I am feeling. Am I getting less or less severe ones or has nothing changed? Hard to really say at this time but we will see. I have it written down how many and when I am getting them since my last appointment. I’m not giving up yet but I was kind of hoping there might be something they cound.

I get migraines but not often, maybe one or two a year. I heard they are hereditary. Mine come after sleeping too long or eating too much chocolate. Blind in one eye for a couple hours, then throbbing headache on the other side for rest of the day. I have no idea why the headache is on the other side, makes no sense to me. Good luck in your search of answers.

Allergies can trigger off a headache.

Yes chocolate sets mine off and bright flashing lights and who knows what else. It depends on how bad it is it can be anything from just a bad pounding in my head to foggy vision to no vision, sometimes with vomiting sometimes without.

I wish you the best of luck. I get headaches, too. Try reducing stress if you can. That may or may not help.

My husband had your same problem, migraines, terrible migraines without a known reason. He had all kind of tests, his blood pressure has always been normal, he had no other problems. One doctor suggested it could be sensibility to electromagnetic fields. We turned off the Wi-Fi, he never keeps a phone in his pocked or in the bedroom and he is a lot better now. You should try.

@Bensen32 Just give it a try. My husband feels a lot better. Of course the migraines have not fully disappeared, as there are magnetic fields everywhere, but it's not too bad now.

Wow, never heard of that....that would be hard to do but might give it a try and see if it changes anything. Thanks for the idea.

Headaches can be so hard to diagnose, as you well know. And it can take a lot of time and patience. I hope they can find the cause eventually.

My mom has been suffering from migraines since her late 20's. She has been to several doctors and did numerous tests with no conclusive results. We are still trying to find answers

@Bensen32 I feel so sorry for my mom. Sometimes she has to cancel plans because of that and she feels bad

High blood pressure can trigger off migraine headaches, I've been told. What a terrible experience, I've had two headaches in my lifetime and wouldn't wish them on a worst enemy!

@kobesbuddy yeah I guess I'm not 100% sure but I try to keep a list of things that I eat and drink to see if things affect it and nothing really stands out other than chocolate.

Yeah, that is why they have me on meds for the high blood pressure hoping that will relieve the amount that I am getting. wish it was just headaches, I live with those almost constant and I have learned to deal with that.
