Well, you people who hate country music knew your luck would run out eventually. Today is that day. At the halfway point of this countdown of songs centered around airplanes, an extension of a suggestion and discussion from @JamesHxstatic , I present today’s country music classic tune.
#6: Silver Wings - Merle Haggard
You know, this song has had such great staying power that occasionally I forget how old it is. It dates to 1969. Guess Hag was trying to get a plane out of someplace where they don’t smoke marijuana. 
A beautiful ballad that helped cement Haggard’s legacy.

Like the man but had not heard this song, I believe there is a song called Silver Bird by Englebert Humperdink in which he was referring to a plane,
