Airplane-Themed Top Ten: Bloody Mary Morning (#4)

Along with songs that have “fly” in the title, I was inspired to create a list of favorites centered around airplanes. They all don’t have “plane” or “airplane” in the title, but the theme of the song is centered around a plane. Here’s today’s example. #4: Bloody Mary Morning - Willie Nelson Oh, sure, like Willie needs a plane to fly. A relatively early (he still had a haircut, as you can tell by the album cover featured in the video) song from Nelson shows the agony of leaving a lover, only being able to face it with “coffee, tea, or something stronger to start off the day.” I’m not much on Nelson’s singing, but if I had to pick a “singing” song of his that I love, it’s this one.
