Somehow I Don’t Think They Thought This One Through….

Ah, product names.
Some of them are great. There’s a diaper rash product from Louisiana called “Boudreaux’s Butt Paste.” 
And oh, those barbecue products’ names: “Rub Your Ass,” “Slap Ya Mama,” and JJ’s favorite, “Ass-Kickin’ Ketchup.”
But sometimes I can’t help but wonder if people think things through before they come up with a product title.
Case in point: today, while at Target, I saw a protein drink.
In a green bottle.
It was called SOYLENT.
I don’t know. Maybe that might entice some people to drink it.
At least they don’t have Charlton Heston’s photo on the bottle!
Tell ‘em, Charlton!

Pretty tries different ones of the protein drinks, Muscle-Milk, stimulant drinks and other similar types and rates them online. Once in a while I'll taste one and give her my opinion... (I always start off with "YUCK!" ) And sites pay her to do that. It's just so weird!
Soylent was one she tried and rated... Thank goodness, she didn't ask me to try that one.

I’m guessing you would have just opened it and said, “Smells like Charlton Heston, I’m not drinking it.”
I’ll bet it’s probably good, being chocolate mint and all. But the name just tells me DON’T YOU DARE TRY THIS.

@FourWalls I remember the movie but couldn't have told you the main actor's name...
Pretty chose the Vanilla flavor to test... She wasn't impressed. (I did have trouble not barfing when she took a swig of it, though. 
)

I pass on Soylent!! Growing up and living in Louisiana for most of my life, I do have to say that Boudreaux's Butt Paste works better than most other diaper rash ointments on the market. I think they went with that name to make consumers remember it!! It worked.

And another thing: I looked up the trailer for the movie and the date given for the movie's timeline was: 2022! "Nothing runs anymore. Nothing works. But the people are the same. And the people will do anything to get what they need. And what they need most is Soylent Green!"

I forgot which car company it was but one of the big ones maybe Ford but it was a long time ago, Anyway, you know how sometimes they come up with all kinds of interesting car names, Well the company sent their fancy car named cars to Mexico and people would not buy them and were laughing, The company found out that the name they chose meant whorehouse in Mexico so they got the cars back at big expense and renamed them just for Mexico and shipped them back and they sold

@FourWalls I am still baffled why the name change to Meta. If you have a product that is doing so well. Why change it?
