I ordered myself a Christmas wreath

3 years ago my aunts invited me to go with them to a local county park to make our own Christmas wreaths. It was so cool. The park employees had cut all sorts of evergreens and put them in the activity room. We spent almost 2 hours snipping the pieces of greenery that we wanted and then assembling our wreaths. I had never done it before but they had done it for several years. My wreath wasn't as pretty as theirs but I had a lot of fun and I was proud of my creation.
Last year it didn't happen due to COVID. The activity is back this year but it is at a different park which isn't close to here. I have a difficult time driving at night so I decided not to do it.
I still wanted a wreath though so I ordered one online. I remember my wreath really made the front door look festive and I smiled every time I saw it. I ordered from Amazon (of course). There were so many different versions at every imaginable price. I wasn't about to spend $100 on something that is only going to last for a month. I eventually selected one that was $39. I can handle that.
I am looking forward to hanging it up on the door! I still have the hanger from that first year.

To bad you couldn't make your own, but glad you found an alternitive you can be happy with. My husband and I have had ours for years.

I have artificial wreaths and greenery that I put across the front of my house. I am ready to put them up this week some time.

I am not familiar with the American culture in celebrating Christmas. The idea of Christmas wreath intrigues me. Normally in the catholic culture, we call it advent wreath which emphasizes the idea of waiting and expectation. There are four sundays before december 25th, the day we commemorate the birth of the Savior. But anyway, call it christmas wreath or advent wreath, waiting for the Lord's birthday brings hope to a world battered by the pandemic.
