So, here is a topic I'm wondering about... Are you a disco fan? If you were going to make a playlist of favorite dance tunes what would be on it? If you're not, what songs can you tolerate? I'm not a disco fan but if you twisted my arm, I could come up with a few songs I could tolerate. After hearing them so many times from DJ's and local bands during their heyday in the 70's-80's, you kind of become brainwashed into thinking those tunes are pretty darn good. 1. Saturday Night Fever- Bee Gees -Watching Mr. Travolta strut down the street while this song plays definitely gets your interest. The Kings of Disco score big with this one. Here are a few more to round out my short list: 2. Last Dance- Donna Summer -Aptly labeled the Queen of Disco 3. Get Down Tonight- KC & The Sunshine Band -"That's The Way I Like It" another of their big hits. 4. Y.M.C.A.- The Village People -Actually, a fun song. And an audience participation number just like the Hokey Pokey. 5. Brick House- The Commodores -A catchy song and bricks are really solid, right? Ok, time to share your answers... Some Source Info- Spotify and Wikipedia

Yes, a major influencer of Disco music with their contributions to the Saturday Night Live soundtrack and film. I actually liked the Bee Gees pre-disco music better...

@DianneN Oh yes, The Bee Gees were formed in 1958 and were extremely successful hit makers in the 1960's way before their Disco period.

Don’t like disco, but do like dance music. Know the difference? If you like the song, it’s “dance” (e.g., “Lowdown” by Boz Scaggs). If you don’t like it, it’s disco. Actually, I think the song “I Will Survive” is a great tune, mainly because it’s very powerful lyrically.

Yes, it seems Disco and Dance music became synonymous during the height of 70's boogie craze. Lowdown great song and winner of an R&B Grammy Definitely not Disco!

Yes, some of the King of Pop's songs were great dance songs. Rock With You was a really good one written by the same guy who wrote "Boogie Nights," another popular disco tune. Do you remember this MJ classic?
"Rock With You" was Michael Jackson's second short film, filmed in 1979 for the second No. 1 hit single from 'Off the Wall.' The Bruce Gowers-directed short ...

Yes, those were some popular dance/disco tunes. The Bee Gees contributions to the Saturday Night Live soundtrack/film really popularized disco.

Nice additions Dancing Queen was a #1 hit for ABBA in 1976. They drew their inspiration from another dance tune called "Rock Your Baby."
