Not happy with my Williams Sonoma order

The All-Clad fry pans I ordered from Williams-Sonoma are on backorder with no date provided on its availability. At least that is what it says when I go to track my order. I never actually received an email from them notifying me that the item was on backorder and when it will be available. Nor did it specify that on the item's page. The estimate delivery still remains Dec 10th to Dec 13th. I am not happy about that. I had a pending charge from this store on my credit card the day I placed the order. Will have to see if it's already posted to my account.

Shortage of raw materials are giving a lot of problems to many companies. I would suggest to cancel the order and look where they are available.

I may have to do that. I really want these fry pans. I was told they can't know if the item is on backorder until the order is placed and sent to the warehouse. That is weird. I've looked at stuff before online (different website) where it actually said an item is on backorder. So I never ordered it.

@lovebuglena You did the right thing. I always check if it's sold and delivered by Amazon, it's the only way to be sure not to have problems.

I cancelled the order and bought the stuff on Amazon. They were sold by Amazon itself so they should be in great condition. Same price and free shipping.

I just went to their website and there was a chat button. Used that to talk to a person. I told them my issue and mentioned that it didn't say on the product page that the item is on backorder when I was placing the order. The guy said that the website doesn't know an item is on back order until the order is placed and the purchase order is sent to the warehouse/vendor. At that point it will either be moved info fulfillment/shipped or in this instance back ordered. He also said they do not have an accurate date when the item will be available. My order will be processed when the item becomes available. The charge was pre-authorized but it wasn't completed. I can cancel the order if I want as long the item is still on backorder. I just have to come back to the chat again or call them to have it cancelled. I didn't do it yet but may end up doing it if it will still be on backorder close to estimated delivery date.

I bought the two fry pans and the saute pan on Amazon. Both said they are in stock. Got free shipping and it says order will arrive December 5th. I think it is a good idea to cancel the other order from Williams Sonoma right now.
