Got what I wanted at Amazon

After the All-Clad fry pans turned out to be on backorder at Williams Sonoma, with no date on when they will be available, I decided to hop onto Amazon today to see if they were available there. Turned out that they were. The price was the same as in Williams Sonoma and I'd get free shipping.
I went ahead and bought the fry pans from there. After talking to hubby about it I also got the All-Clad 4-Qt. saute pan. And I got the All-Clad cookware protectors as well. It said that everything was in stock.
Since the items are sold by Amazon they should be in great condition. I got free shipping for my order, though it was not automatically selected and I had to click on it myself. The total came out to $190.42. The arrival date says December 5th. I hope that the delivery date doesn't change, at least not to a later one.
After making the Amazon purchase I went ahead and cancelled my Williams Sonoma order. No reason to wait to do that. There is still a pending charge from them on my credit card but it should disappear within 4 days.
When I contacted Williams Sonoma via chat about the fact that the product page didn't say the item was on backorder I was told that they do not know if an item is on backorder until an order is placed and then sent to the warehouse. They can't even tell me when the item will be available. That is not good customer service.
I've bought stuff at other online retailers and when an item was on backorder it said that on the product page. And I was also notified about that via email and told when the item would be available. Don't understand why the same is not done at Williams Sonoma. I only found out the item I ordered was on backorder when tracking the order.
I am happy that what I wanted to buy was available on Amazon and for the same price, and with free shipping.

Amazon I think, can afford to give better customer service. Williams Sonoma is a little weird. I got a better price on a spatchula I bought a regular store than the WS outlet store price, and the purchase partially went to fund a social program too..

I ordered a few things from Williams Sonoma in the past. Never had issues. This is the first time.

@lovebuglena Oh I think they are OK to order from probably just be wary. Also, you know if you can find a better price at a competitor they would probably match it.

@snowy22315 I think they had something on the site about price matching but it was specific retailers. And I think you had to submit the screenshot of that retailer's product page before placing the order with them.

@Nakitakona Everything came but I have to return the saute pan. It's smaller than I thought it would be.

I'm glad you were able to find your pans on Amazon. You should be happy with the shipping and definitely the customer service.

@LindaOHio I don't know why they did this but the three items are coming separately. All today. Wonder if they will come in the same truck or in three different deliveries.

Thank you. It is a bummer that the saute pan is not the size I thought it would be. It is smaller than I thought. It will be returned. And I now have to find another saute pan. The model I ordered there is no bigger sizes.
