When does Christmas time start where you are?

December 2, 2021 5:40pm CST
Before I moved to America I have always been enthusiastic about the celebration of Christmas in my country since it is one of the longest in the world! When September comes songs are already played on the radio and people already start putting up decorations and it usually ends in January 6 ( feast of 3 kings) in my place in particular Christmas decorations stay up until the 3rd week of January. When I moved to the United States it usually starts after thanksgiving (4th week of November) and end after new year What about you guys? When does christmas start where you are? When does it end?

In Morocco it never starts because it's a Muslim country. Tho we do celebrate the new year. The decorations are a bit similar and I think it starts in December.

Didn't you go into Walmart, a mall or into a Target or Kmart? They all start putting out Christmas decorations before Halloween and start playing Christmas music on November 1st. I get tired of Christmas well before December is even here! May I ask what city in Missouri you live near?

I'm from the Philippines and we celebrate Christmas season traditionally. We will have a Christmas party with some special numbers like sing and dance, games with prizes and exchanging gifts.

@ramira puto and tsokolate after simbang gabi! Why stay inside to hear mass? When you can sit on your car with your friends and relatives, feel the cool breeze and watch the sun go up as the mass is ending? Visiting relatives during Christmas Day and of course the kiddos will be all excited because of the gifts and money they receive And then there’s the noche buena, christmas and new year fireworks!

In the U.S. people start preparing for it before Thanksgiving. You can usually buy decore as early as Nov 1st. However, given how diverse our country is, you can see celebrations poping up at different times of year.

Most people start right before or right after Thanksgiving, and it ends on the 26th (but some people leave the tree up until after New Year's Day), as you said, of course lol. I also live in the United States. As for music, shopping, wrapping, etc. - I start when I feel like it. Some would feel I start too early because it's before Thanksgiving, but that's their problem lol.

We decorate for December 6th, because it is the St.Nicholas Day that we celebrate. Christmas celebration starts on December 24th with the dinner.

At my place before the pandemic, usually in October people were already busy preparing Christmas supplies.
