There are some interesting uses for baking soda among them is that you can tenderize meat. The Chinese have recipes for marinating meat that include a mix of baking soda and water. You apply the baking soda directly onto the meat and rinse it off before cooking.
I never imagined you could use baking soda to clean silver jewelry and utensils but you can when you don't want to use toxic cleaning solutions. All you have to do is take a quarter cup of baking soda and sprinkle it in an aluminum foil-lined basin, add your silver items and pour on boiling water. After it soaked a while your silver items will be clean.
It is always a problem when you get a splinter and sometimes really deep under the skin. When that happens take a mixture of water and baking soda and apply it to the skin around the splinter then cover it with a bandaid. In a couple of days, the baking soda softens the skin and it makes it much simpler to pull out the splinter with a pair of tweezers.
Have you ever thought about putting baking soda up your nose? Well if you suffer from chronic hay fever then make a homemade saline sinus rinse which will help to remove extra mucus and allergens. Take three parts iodide free salt and one part baking soda. Then add boiled or distilled water that has been cooled and pull it up into a bulb syringe. Tilt your head and squeeze the solution in each nostril, You'll feel much better afterwards.
A paste made out of baking soda and water rubbed under armpits can become a natural deodorant for combating body odor. You can make a natural deodorant stick using coconut oil, cornstarch, baking soda, and essential oil.
You can make a homemade air freshener by using half a cup of baking soda and some drops of essential oil. Put the mixture in a jar and cover it with a cloth. Putting this in your closet or bathroom will keep things fresh.
Bug bites can be annoying and lead to itching, Take baking soda and make it into a paste and apply it to the bite. This soluiton relieves pain from the bites, bee stings, and even poison ivy. It will also take care of the swelling and itchiness.
Do you hate bugs as much as I do? If you have problems with ants, cockroaches, and other insects the good news is that they eat baking soda and the release of carbon dioxide bubbles in their bodies will kill them. Take baking soda and sprinkle it along with vinegar on ant mounds and pour on plants to kill bugs that are eating up what you grow in the garden.
To remove dandruff and flaky skin from your scalp forget dandruff shampoos, Instead, wash your hair with baking soda and water. Rub in the baking soda and leave it on for a few seconds and the rinse out, It will also remove any excess oil,

So many different uses for baking soda, interesting! I put a box in my freezer & fridge to rid it of oders & that freezer taste. Then when I put in a new box of baking soda, I use the old ones for cleaning my drains with hot water & white vinegar. It'll bubble up fiercely cleaning the drains keeping it clear. Dr. Oz show one day, a guest said a teaspoon of it in your dish cleaning water, to keep it germ & bacteria free, so I use baking soda that way too, no dishwasher.

I use baking soda a lot. When my geriatric cats upchuck I use it to soak up the mess then when it gets hard I just need to shovel that into a trash bag.
It's also very useful at removing burned on messes when mixed with salt and vinegar, just let it sit for an hour then it'll all be easier to clean.
It's amazing how much baking soda can do.

Baking soda is one of those remarkable things. Always handy and always cheap. I always wonder why that is since they jack prices on everything else. Its such a valuable tool, good post miss lady.
