Didn't hear the delivery guy...

My Amazon order (All-Clad fry pans and pan protectors) arrived today. I didn't even hear the bell ring. Maybe the delivery guy didn't even ring the bell. And if that's the case I wonder why... Instead of everything being in one box, there were two boxes and one bubble envelope. The set of two fry pans was in a brown box while the saute pan with lid was just in its own original All-Clad box. I hope nothing was damaged. The items were left on the porch but very close to the glass door. I couldn't open it to step outside. I was able to open the door slightly but then had to keep moving one of the boxes away from the door, without it falling down the steps, so I can squeeze through the opening and step outside. And then I had to maneuver both boxes on the porch so I can fully open the door and drag everything inside. It wasn't easy as the porch is small. I haven't opened anything yet. Waiting for hubby to come home to do it.

I've noticed that many of the delivery drivers here where I live will place the packages by the door, snap a picture, do a quick knock on the door, and then leave. Because they are in such a hurry, they don't stand and wait to see if someone will answer. I don't blame them, as they are overburdened and overworked and have way too many packages to deliver each day. Waiting for someone to answer the door takes valuable time away from them, when they could be well on their way to their next delivery stop.

@lovebuglena I never have someone knock at my door or ring the doorbell until the second I jump in the shower, or go number 2. It never fails that at that exact moment the doorbell rings.

I didn’t hear a bell or a knock lol. Unless it happened when I was in the basement and I just didn’t hear it.

@moffittjc LOL. I always hope I won’t have to go poop when I am waiting on the delivery.

Most delivery drivers are told not to ring doorbells or knock now because of the pandemic. They don't know who is infected or who has gotten vaccinated and their companies don't want them to catch anything from their customers.

That is rather odd the delivery man did that and put the boxes so close to the door, Glad at least you got what you ordered and I hope everything arrived in one piece,

I am glad I was able to somehow open the door slightly and squeeze myself through the opening.

They should. How else are we supposed to know they came? Unless maybe they loudly bang on the door.

@lovebuglena It certainly would help. There would be less stealing of packages if you know one is on the porch.

It will be like Xmas. Will you tell.Lenny to close his eyes and lead him by the hand to the boxes. Just to see his joyous wee face when you say " you can open your eyes now"

We are returning one of them. Size dimensions on the site were different than the actual size of the item. Sauté pan is smaller than I thought it’d be.

Some drivers can't be bothered to ring the bell. I know a lot of times, I'll get a push notification stating my package was delivered and check my ring app to see when a person was last dected at my door, only to find the doorbell never rang. At least you got your packages and inside.

Amazon told me to expect my delivery today between 4pm and 8pm. Around 5:30 I decided to track my order and learned it was already delivered. I got the email about the delivery (separate one for each item) much later than when I tracked my order and found out it's already here.
