Hello all, So, I was reading this story about this restaurant in North Beach, San Francisco, CA. Seems the restaurant is called Hilda and Jesse on Union St. and they refused to serve three police officers that came into the restaurant in their uniforms and with their weapons on them. I guess the staff was uncomfortable with the fact that they had weapons. They were asked to leave by the owner. They asked then to leave and didn’t have an issue till hundreds went on Yelp and gave them one star, now they want to apologize and said that they would be happy to serve the officers. All they have to do is come when they are off duty in civilian clothes and no weapons. The owners said that their restaurant is a safe place, and their staff and customers should feel safe when coming there. They say they cater to queer and bipoc individuals, whatever that means. So, I guess those people are afraid of the police, maybe they would be more comfortable with criminals coming in there. Of course, my thought is I hope they lose a bunch of customers over this. I could care less if they give a half-azzed apology. Too late if you ask me, then again that is the way things are done now especially in San Francisco.

I agree with them, if they truly are doing it to feel safe

You would never hear a story like this in Texas. Everybody is packing heat in Texas, and nobody is afraid of anyone there. I bet they all feel as safe as can be in Texas. I would feel safe eating at a restaurant in Texas, or anywhere else, even if people were openly carrying their weapons.

Here in Wisconsin, we can open carry too although not as many do like in Texas, but I do now and then and sometimes I get weird looks but mostly people just avoid me which is fine by me.

@Bensen32 See, but it is the exception rather the rule to open carry in Wisconsin, where in Texas it is the rule rather than the exception. We don't have open carry here in Florida, but everybody has a concealed weapons permit. So I just assume everyone is packing heat even though I can't visibly see it. It won't be long until Florida is an open carry state as well.

@moffittjc True, when you get out to more rural areas in Wisconsin you see more people carrying. In the more populated areas, the less you see it. I also noticed that in the more popular areas the cops tend to ask more questions when you do carry. I have been questioned a few times but every time they have been cool about it so no issues.
