Thanks to an alert person who called 911 to report that a Husky who was having a hard time staying afloat in Presque Isle Bay in downtown Erie Pennsylvania on Monday morning, the Erie firefighters were able to save the poor dog from drowning near the Donjon Shipbuilding area.
The Husky whose name and gender were not mentioned, was rescued by firefighter Andy Lenko was a scuba diver who with the help of his fellow firefighters was able to save the dog from drowning.
After the Husky was rescued by the firefighters, the dog was taken by transportation to the Anna Shelter by animal control officers to be taken care of by the veterinarians.
The Husky was then reunited with its owner on Monday afternoon after the dog was given a clean bill of health.
How did the Husky wind up in the water near the shipbuilding area is not known at this time.

Thank you for sharing that with us. I am so glad that the Husky was saved and after a clean bill of health was reunited with his or her owner. Maybe the husky got out of the home and wandered into the water by accident because he or she was curious.

Probably the best case scenario that the dog wandered away from home and into the river.

That is a good question if the Husky is male or female myself. I am happy that the dog is back with his or her owner.

I am so glad the Husky was saved but as always I wonder what the owners were doing when the dog went away and wound up in the water,
