Not a happy trip to the doctor.

I just knew there was something wrong in my cheek my mind started to race when she told me that what I had there was skin cancer. Not the worst of them (a basal cell carcinoma) still I have to take care of it and have it taken off. That means also the administrative side of it all. I will have to discover where and who will take it away and how much it will cost. This is when I wish I had a magic wand to go places easily and ask what I need. And of course, I would also make some money with the wand as all these procedures are quite expensive. I came back late and tired. And Dixie is not in town, Tania is in the south with covid and Claudia is in bed with a cough that I told her to get a PCR to see what it was. I´m pissed, friends. It is not easy

I am so sorry. Are this procedure not covered by the national healthcare?

I am not sure. I don´t go to the national healthcare anyway because I have a health insurance that normally treats me faster and better. The pandemia has distorted everything as health care goes.

@marguicha We all have the same healthcare insurance here, there is not a public and a private, we can pay more if we want a private bedroom in case of surgery.

I hope you get things taken care of quickly. Most skin cancers can be taken care of quickly if they’re discovered early enough.

I have had 3 taken away before. But one of them needed bigger surgery.

@marguicha — my dad had something taken off his ear that was cancerous. They had to cut, then biopsy, and if cancer still showed they had to cut some more. My prayers that you can get this resolved very quickly.

Don't you have a national health care system? Here that procedure wouldn't cost a thing.

We have different kinds of health insurance here. The national care system is free but you would have to wait a long time. I have an insurance but all hospitals now are in part with covid patients.

@marguicha urgent situations don't have to wait here. I am sorry, hope you find a hospital to remove or as soon as possible.

@nela13 I suppose that this is not so urgent. My daughter Tania had peritonitis about a month ago and Claudia took her to the hospital. She had her surgery a couple of hours after she was there.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope they are able to remove it all. My husband has had several skin cancers removed.

I have had 3 already. Only one shows because it needed a bigger surgery. I don´t know about this one as it is on the cheek.
