Our Christmas lights

I’ve just seen Kharla Jolly’s (@kobesbuddy) post and photo of her decorated house. It looks really nice. We have never lived where people can drive past and see our house but now, all our neighbours have decorations of some kind so we’ve put some coloured lights across the front and back of the house.
The ‘front’ faces the village street while the ‘back’ faces a road that is just part of the development here. So we put lights on both. Some are powered by solar lights but others we switch on at night.
The photo is of the lights at the front. Our house is on the left.

It looks really pretty. We will just have a wreath on the door.

I think it's pretty. I love that we can turn on our lights, too and that we have them to enjoy. I tried to do the same with my house.

@kobesbuddy I was getting tired of the 2 - 3 hour trip to getting anywhere. It will only be 30 minutes on Christmas Day.

@JudyEv I think we might stay home this year, traveling bothers me terribly.

The neighbours on either side of us have lights up. The neighbours on our left have white flashing lights on their small trees on the front lawn. The neighbours on our right have coloured flashing lights on their tree stumps between our house and theirs. (They are tree stumps that are about half the height the original trees were. They were cut down because they were too big and were an eyesore, but they kept the large stumps as a garden feature and have planted flowers around them!) So we are sandwiched between two houses with lights and we have none! My Mum hasn't even put the Christmas tree up inside!

@JudyEv You are so right, but my Mum's worried people might think we're Jehovah's Witnesses!

@sharonelton So do Jehovah's Witnesses not have lights? Is that what you mean?

@snowy22315 Yes, it can be seen from both sides.
Not too much privacy here.

Thanks. This is the first year where people can see our house so we thought we needed to at least keep up with the Joneses.

Ooh, that’s nice! I like the multi-colored lights. I’m not overly fond of the solid white lights that can be seen from outer space.
