Firetrucks and Police With Flashing Red Lights

Just had a scare in the neighborhood. All of a sudden there were two big firetrucks, two SUV fire trucks, and three Police cars across the street. All with their red and blue lights flashing.
They had axes out and hoses, like they were ready to break in. They were knocking on the front door and the garage. Nobody came to the door. And I saw no smoke or anything unusual.
Seems nobody was home maybe. I don't know the lady that lives there.
After they stayed about 10 minutes, walking all around the house, they left.
Either a false alarm or maybe the wrong address. I hope it was nothing.

Most likely a false alarm since the holidays do bring out the pranksters.

@CarolDM I used to work at a service station in Metairie in 1980 and there was one joker who would make crank calls to the fire department.

Wow that is weird, could be a wrong address or a prank I feel sorry for the fool if it was a prank. I bet they will never do it again when they find them if that is what it was.

@crossbones27 We had a false alarm in Tawas, years back. The fire truck rushed out main street, wasn't able to make the corner and hit a tree. The driver was killed!

I had the same thing happen. I saw a fire truck at the building next door. I couldn’t see any smoke or activities but I was worried, then someone came knocking on my door. I thought they’d going to tell me the place is on fire, but it was only fire inspectors so they checked my apartment and took their leave.

It was probably a false alarm. We used to get the police coming when our alarm went off for a break-in. It was nothing. Scared the #### out of me one night when I was home alone and had fallen asleep. The big klaxon alarms were going off; and I thought someone had broken in! We got the guilty sensor fixed and haven't had that problem since.

@CarolDM those are bad, wastes the first responders time, hopefully, there wasn't another issue they couldn't get to as fast because of that.

Oh dear that was a bit of excitement. Glad there as no fire & l hope that it wa not a hoax call as someone elsewhere could have needed their help!
