Counting down to 2022

Before me actually realizing, there are only about 11 days to the new year. I still remember telling my kids we would take December off. I would take this time to do some planning for the new year, and our new school year. They can just read, play and take some good rest before we start our new year. Decluttering and organizing need to be done as well, and the old papers need to be filed away. Well, it seems like I haven't really do much yet. No planning has been done. We did come up with some new projects, and I got some ideas what we will do next year. My eldest enjoys reading his fiction books, and my younger two are having fun playing and creating something everyday. I will need to get some solid plans written soon, and I still have a software project to work on before this year ends. Are you busy preparing for Christmas or planning for the new year?

Thanks! I have no idea where I have been too.... though I have been "kept" in the house for more than a year. Hope you and your family are doing well! Merry Christmas!

@kaka135 Thank you and Merry Christmas! We've done our best to stay isolated for the last year, too, hoping Covid would go away. (My daughter and I have both been vaccinated and had the booster but we're still worried about Covid. We both have a lot of health problems...) We only leave our house to get groceries and we try to time doing that so we are around as few people as possible. So far, we've been lucky. (We do wear our masks if we step outside out house which very few people here bother to do. It's unnerving how many just don't care.)

@DaddyEvil Some people just think differently. Some of my friends think I am too worried. Well, I just try to stay at the safer side, and there's really no harm for us to stay at home all the time. Since we are homeschooling, kids are totally fine staying at home, spending more time with each other, coming up with more ideas to play and have fun. I am glad that my kids are actually quite cautious about the virus, even my youngest, so I don't need to explain more to keep them at home. Some of my friends said they will go crazy for staying at home so long, so they really need to go out. I am totally fine staying at home. Moreover, my kids haven't get vaccinated yet as they are still young, so I still prefer to stay at home with them. Good to know you and your family are doing well. Stay healthy always!

Time really passes so fast. I can understand you are very busy since you have to take care of your children. As I have one child but it already keeps me busy

Good to see you here. I guess we always feel time passes quickly when we seem to have lots to do, and lots of things we haven't finish doing yet. Kids growing up very fast too, I feel like I haven't spend enough time with them yet. How are you and your child? He's quite old now, right? I really can't catch up with their growing speed. My eldest will turn into a teenager in two months.

@youless I always think 7, 13, 18 years old are another new development stage. It's exciting and interesting to see our children going on those new adventures. 13 years old is really new to me, now I can't imagine how I'll be when my son turns 18. Well, it will just come and we will just accept it as it is, right?

I gather you are home-schooling. Do you need to do this or is it something you want to do? I'm just wondering. I admire anyone who home-schools their children.

Planning is something I always like to do since I was young. I don't remember when I learned that, perhaps in school. As for homeschooling, I guess a plan is necessary, so we know where the children are at currently, what and how to do next. Though I don't always follow through my plan, having it does help me a lot. Merry Christmas to you!
