Went out to buy carrots.
The grocery store was full of shoppers. Rushing to buy what they needed for the upcomimg Christmas Eve.
I only needed celery and carrots. I was surprised to see the price of a carrot. That's around $1 already.
How about in your place?

@Edsamacos You are right. For 1Euro (54Pesos at the moment), I can buy almost a kilo carrots here in our supermarket.

For one carrot? That is a lot.
Here you can get 1 pound of carrots for about $1.50

Carrots here are usually sold as part of a bag. I have rarely bought single carrots, but I am sure they wouldn't be a dollar a piece.
