As encouraged by @TheHorse and @vandana7 I am going to tell you about one of my seriously insane recent days. December 21st my wife contacted me that they, the rehab hospital she was at, was going to send her home via an ambulance. She was very excited. She's been in hospital or rahab since November 1st. I went up and packed up her stuff so all they had to take on the ambulance was her suitcase and her pillow. Now, old time myloters may remember I used to do home health for a friend. On several occasions this company would pick her up or bring her home from things. I'm telling you this because I trust these people know what they are doing even if they don't provide emergency services in the Austin Metro area, they do in surrounding towns. They got her home and out of their ambulance, but then they tried to sit her up on a transport wheelchair. The minute they got her upright her blood pressure crashed. The lead EMT tried to call his boss about permission to transport her. He finally decided that he was doing it. My wife doesn't remember the trip, she doesn't remember being taken into the ER. The next thing she remembers is being in the ER. So, they finally get her into a room, but tell her that they need her meds list, her discharge papers and insurance cards. I have her suitcase that had been in the ambulance, and I grab the papers and suitcase to take out to my car. Now, Boris, the orange menace, was in the front room, but I didn't know it until I had the door opened and the screen door propped open with the suitcase. I try to flutter papers at him, got my foot caught on the threshold and went down. The roommate works in the front room, and gets up to help me, but she really needs to throw the cat out first. So, yeah, I get up, the suitcase and papers in the car, but now I'm sore from the fall. T'ain't one thang, t'is 'nother!

Sounds like hypostatic orthotension... Yeah, I read your comment to @TheHorse, but it's happened to me before when I was younger. Now, I just roll out of bed slowly.

The PT was there and raised the hospital bed up to 50ยบ and her BP dropped to 80 over 55. Yeah, it came up slowly, but she was having trouble seeing even so. She has Meniere's in her left ear, BPPV in her right ear as well as hypostatic orthotension.

@TheHorse Well, Meniere's is a balance issue in the ear. BPPV is when the crystals in the ear that help with balance are dislodged and then when you move your head wrong it can cause super bad dizzy spells. And hypostatic orthotension - well, hypostatic is related to the settling of blood in the dependent parts of an organ or body, in this case the organ is the brain and orthotension is when one changes position, like standing or sitting up from laying down and it causes the blood pressure to drop.

Aw....so so so sorry.... hugs. This has been truly bad period. I, of course, cannot do much about it. However, my way of tackling such days is...ok...three misfortunes, there will be three good fortunes coming my way sometime soon. I convince myself it will happen sooner or later, it becomes easier to accept the problem for me.

We keep hoping she'll get better enough to come home. Two months and she's still not home.

Glad you are only sore, not broken. What kind of rehab?

She has Meniere's in her left ear, BPPV in her right ear and hypostatic orthotension. They are trying to build up her core because she's barely able to sit upright since she's spent most of the last 8 month in bed. And, yeah, I could tell I didn't break anything right away, I've tended to 'white out' when I've broken things in the past.

It remains in my life as one of those day where moments are branded in my memory and the rest is kind of a fog.
