What the New Year will bring

Like most people I have been thinking about this year and past years wondering what this new year will being me and those around me. Will things in life and the world around us get better or god forbid get worse. Of course, like everything we all have our opinions and hopes. I was thinking back 21 years ago, for those that remember. We were waiting to see what was going to happen with Y2K, LOL. Remember how they were saying that utilities could all shut down, bank accounts would freeze the world was going to end. Well as we know now, nothing happened. Midnight struck around the world and not a thing changed. I thought about it and mentioned it yesterday, but I was a bit off, I had to look it up but in 1999 on January 1st – 2nd the area I lived in at the time was hit by a snowstorm that dropped 21.6 inches of snow in less than 24 hours. Welcome to the new year LOL I think back of years gone by and wonder how we ended up here. - Politics are worse than anytime I remember in my lifetime. - We have people more worried about pronouns more than things that really matter in life. - We have a mass amount of people taking useless college programs then crying because they can’t find a job and are buried in debt. - We have a president who I’m not sure he knows where he is half the time and his giggle side kick who is more useless than he is. - The Virus I believe is way over played by the media and politicians that we can’t even get the truth from them. - Speaking of the media, it has become a political side show with rarely any truth to it. They are more interested in political agendas and making money than reporting the truth. - Our country is being divided by the media and politics yet so many people buy into it. - So many in our country are buying into this thought that racism is worse now than any time in my life. Of course, I am a straight white male so of course my opinion doesn’t count. So, we think that cause the clock strikes midnight that this is going to change overnight and that this new year is going to be any better? If you think that for a second, I think you are going to be sadly mistaken. This is going to take years if not generations to change. I think it is going to get a lot worse till it ever can get better. Good Luck in the new year, I think we all will need it.

I remember the panic about the Y2K bug, finally nothing happened. I see the year 2021 as the year the "politicians and media" (NOT THE VIRUS) divided people. Vaccinated and not vaccinated, contaminated and healthy, republican and democratic. A horrible year for freedom and security.

You are right about that and sadly people are just falling for it and allowing themselves to be influenced by this crap.

@Bensen32 - The governments are totally failing in controlling the virus and they now want to point the fingers to those non vaccinated to hide the fact that they failed. Look at the figures, we have 5 times more cases now than before the vaccine came out... there is something wrong here!

Right, so many people were freaking out thinking it was going to be the end of the world. Wow how good we had it back then.

You are spot on with all that you said. The things going on now will take years to correct. We all need luck and hope for better days.
