Time to take down the Xmas decorations

Greece
January 2, 2022 9:54am CST
I never manage to wait until the traditional 12th night to remove the decorations. Once we reach 31 December Xmas is over for me. I am always sorry to take down the tree however and it is always the last thing to go. I usually buy one new ornament for the tree every year, but this year I have not done so. The nicest ornaments I have are gifts from friends so when I look at the tree I think of them. When the children were small they made a few decorations for the tree but they have their own trees now... Christmas is a both a sweet and a sad time. This Christmas was a good one for me. How was yours?

We always take down the decorations after the Epiphany day, so it will be the 7th of January for me, the day after the Three Wise Men day.

@marlina - We place the 3 wise men in the nativity scene in the morning and the decorations stay all the day. The day after we take everything down. In France they wait until the end of January.

what a pity you had a chest infection over Christmas., but you seem to have made the best of Christmas in spite of it. Hopefully you are better now and looking forward to a healthy January.

Wow, how quickly disassemble the Christmas decorations. In my place, Christmas decorations can be dismantled after mid-January.

It was OK, I usually take my Christmas stuff down the weekend after New Years.

All of our decorations are taken down and put away except for the wreath on the front door. That will remain until the Epiphany next week. We had a blessed Christmas, so thankful that we understand what and who is most important, after last year's lock down and our first experience of a quiet Christmas.

This is so weird. Your post is almost identical to what I would have written. Taking down our tree today..yours is very pretty. Ours always has ornaments with family stories, too.
