Will I still be working?

Today we had a meeting with our district manager who gave us some information about some upcoming things that will affect us and then wanted us to give him some information about things that needed to improve and some things that are working well.
He left the room for about 20 minutes or so to let us talk it all out and give him a short list. We came up with quiet a few things for him and most of them are things he will have to get back to us on.
One of the things he gave us information on, well kind of, was the needing to be vaccinated or get tested every week. Seems they are holding off on giving and answer till the Supreme Court makes a ruling. So, I still sit here not knowing if I will have a job in the near future.
I get that he doesn’t want to say anything at this point, but they must have plans in the works, right? I can’t believe they are going to wait till the Supreme Court decides and then come up with a plan. I guess I wait and see what happens.
My immediate manager is worried that half the team is going to walk out if they force this on us. Well, I can’t speak for the others, but I would walk out but I guess they are going to be forced to fire me because I am not getting the vaccine and they are not going to be testing me every week.
I’m guessing we will know something come Friday. Of course, I don’t know that for sure but seems like lately cases are being decided on Fridays.

I can't say I blame you. What they are doing is overkill and boosting numbers. You can't force someone to get a medical prosedure they don't want, and yet this suddenly changed? I don't think so. I'm not afraid t o speak up.

I know how it feels to be forced to take a vaccine when you are being forced to take one instead of being given an option. I do not like to be forced to do anything against my will.

@Deepizzaguy I can't believe people keep voting for these people and support these kinds of things.

You are right no one can force others to do what they do not want to do, The best of luck to you and I hope you can keep your job,

Your competitor (where I work) has done a similar policy, but we were saved (temporarily) by omicron. They had just discontinued the mask wearing requirement when omicron hit. They then went back and mandated the masks again, and said they were holding off on implementing the new vaccine mandate since everyone had to wear masks again. I’m sure it’s just a stall tactic until the Supreme Court rules on the mandates.

@Bensen32 It’s starting to get like that in a lot of places. In the county where I live, masks are mandatory everywhere, but it seems nobody is enforcing it anymore. So half the people where masks, half don’t.

@moffittjc I'm of the half that doesn't :) I would say 90% of the people that come into work do not wear a mask. Yet they try to tell us we are supposed to wear one.
