I saw a red fox in our local park. At the time there was frost and it was leaping over the frosty vegetation. They get furrier in the winter. This visit was on Christmas Day.

@LadyDuck I have mine in my purse or in the house. It probably keeps me from losing it. I never have it in a pocket.

@Aquitaine24 - No I never arrived to take a picture, I often see the fox when I am outside doing something in the garden, I never have my phone or my camera with me.

With the cold, they are very bushy. See them in my neighborhood.

Yes we do. The California grey is native but red Foxes have a wider range. Reds were introduced in the area for hunting.

We have them around here too. I don't mind them as long as they stay in the wild and don't get too close to us.

You don’t need to be afraid of them because they are the size of a large cat, maybe a little lbigger.

@RubyHawk that is true. At the park people bring dogs so foxes like to go back to the den before any large dogs appear.

@Aquitaine24 I’m afraid our busy streets scare them off.

Oh wow, he is beautiful. For me, since I love nature, that would be a great Christmas gift to see a fox on Christmas day!

Everything seems to get furrier this time of year. I have had foxy visitors in my yard before, but not recently.

The fox is beautiful! I don't think I have ever seen a real fox before. My youngest son would really be happy to see a real fox as lately he likes fox very much after reading him the Reddy Fox story, or crocheting him a fox doll.
