This story is close to my heart even though I am not the greatest cat lover in the world, I feel compassion when a cat gets lost due to a minor error on behalf of the owner of the cat.
A family who donated an old recliner in a thrift store in Denver Colorado since they were moving made a minor error by leaving inside of a package the cat who goes by the name Montequilla who was inside of the package where the recliner was.
When the owner of Montequilla found out that the ginger cat was missing, the owner of the cat called the thrift store to ask if the cat was inside of their store.
The employees of the thrift store informed the owner of the cat that she was in the Denver Animal Shelter, the owner of Montequilla went to pick up their missing cat and reunite with her once again.

How did she get inside a package? What I call a package is an item wrapped and sealed with tape.

that is so sweet. so glad the fur baby got back home before something really bad happened. Cats get in places you would never think they could.

I have seen that happen with my relatives cats who like to hide underneath the bed or look out of the window.

@Deepizzaguy Sometimes they slip into closets and we don't see them when we close the door.

I ams so glad that the cat was reunited with her owners, What I do not understand is why the thrift store people put her in the shelter, They knew who donated the recliner to them so they should have called the owners, Well anyway glad it all worked out,

They tried to contact the owners of the cat by using the microchip that the cat had on her but they could not find who the owner was at that time.

I agree with you since I am sure that the owner was sad that she lost her cat for good. Thank goodness they were reunited.

I am happy for Montequillas owner as well since some cats act like jerks but they are my jerks.

That's very good when animals are being taken care of. Last week some people probably one in our neighborhood hurt our cat, it has wounds. Our cat could've been hurt seriously that it. passed. My sister in-law didn't inform me immediately it was our carpenters who informed me about it because one of them buried the body of the cat.

I agree with you since even though I do not always get along with the cats inside the home, they are part of my family.

Here, we call them op shops, or opportunity shops.
A lot of people leave junk, overnight on their doorsteps, just to get rid of the junk, but I have never heard of an animal being left on the doorstep of a thrift shop.
It is probably illegal for the thrift shop to try to on-sell it themselves too.
It is a wonder that they didn't feel the extra weight in the box, but these things do happen, I guess.
The owner will check all packages carefully now, after this mishap to their cat.

You are right since the owner made an error in judgement dealing with the material left at the thirft store.
