There are still some very nice people in the world

I want to state, right now, that I'm not hurting for money. More money is nice, but I'm not going to starve. So, Thursday, 1-6-22, I had a follow up doctor appointment after having a procedure done in June. This appointment was literally just steps away from the University of Texas campus. After the appointment, I drove over to a branch of my bank to check both my and my wife's balances. From there I went across the interstate to a store called Fiesta. Fiesta is a San Antonio based grocery store that caters to a predominately Hispanic cliental. Now, it isn't just a Hispanic sort of store like El Rancho or La Hacienda, but more of a main stream store with more than a nod to its Hispanic heritage. Fiesta has a pretty good international selection of things. I wasn't there for the ginger beer my wife asked for, I was there for their knock off Benadryl, Top Care, because it is corn starch free. I got five of them. I also grabbed a travel packet of 6 Arthritis BC Powder, because I often get headaches when I'm away from my home supply and I had forgotten to replace my supply in my purse. I go looking for some artificial flowers, and then I went to see if they had any A&W Zero Sugar (not diet - oh no, not diet!) and grabbed a couple of 12 packs. I go up to the check out and the man in front of me paid for my stuff! I mean, I think he paid for more for my stuff than his! There are still some very nice people in the world. Yes, I will pay it forward, hopefully soon.

That was a very nice gesture, some people still try to help the others.

I agree. My friend in Kerrville will sometimes give extra money at the drive thru of McDonalds and pay for people behind her food.

@LadyDuck cool, and a drink or coffee isn't the same as about $40...

@ElicBxn - Often people pay coffee for those who will come, this is pretty common here.

@porwest that's sad, maybe it was because I was in one of the store's riding carts? At that time, while my wife was in rehab, we still hoped she'd get better and come home... I still miss her.

If only the rest of the world would do this, imagine how much nicer things would be.

It was. Between being basically released by the doctor post procedure and this, it made going to the cemetery afterward easier.
