Today is My Ten Year Anniversary with HubPages

I started writing for the website HubPages exactly 10 years ago today. It seems like it was just yesterday.
I have always loved to write. I remember that I wanted to earn money from my writing SO badly and I finally had the courage to bite the bullet and apply to write there. It was the first time I ever made money for anything I have written. I started writing immediately after being accepted.
I still write new "hubs" (articles) for HubPages every year, and I am still earning some money there, although not as much as I had hoped for.
I love writing there because I can write about whatever I want. It is a very fulfilling experience.
Have you ever heard of HubPages or are you a writer there?

I have heard of HubPages before but I have not written anything for them since I have this fear that writing satire stories of professional wrestling would not fit there.

@tallawah It did harm my writing career when Allvoices.com decided to have my services anymore.

@tallawah I know what you mean since MyLot is my saving grace as a writer.

@Deepozzaguy I think you are right about that. HubPages is not the best venue for those types of stories. I hope you have found a site to publish on that fits your writing style?

@Kouponkaren Thanks for the info. It's really helpful to know all that.

@JudyEv You can write about anything you want there, but they like your articles to be about 800 to 1,200 words, and more technical or advice or reviews are what they are looking for. Some people do really well with niches like there is a car guy there who does really well. And someone else writes about makeup and does well. I have written about having a romantic relationship, saving money, travel and cruising there and those articles seem to do the best.

@JudyEv Oh and they want you to include lots of extras with your articles, like photos, videos, links and polls, etc.

@tallawah I think they may have been non featured because not enough people were looking at them. Have you tweaked those articles and added more to them maybe so they can be featured again? That's what I am trying to do. I reach payout every few months so I am still making money there, but not having to do too much.

@Kouponkaren Yes, I earned money from Squidoo, in the beginning there were some users who made almost 10,000 dollars a year with Squidoo. We were all upset when it was sold to HubPages.

@LadyDuck I have heard of Squidoo but never write on that site. Did you earn money from Squidoo?

Heard of them, was there, but not fast enough money, so left. Congrats!

@oahuwriter You are right about that. It is definitely NOT fast money. But the money does keep coming in for me so I keep writing there. I would be making more if I wrote more. But they have a lot of rules and guidelines now so writing there is more challenging than ever.

@saytama Oh yes, I can see how that would be a problem for you. Sorry. Hopefully, you have found other writing sites that work for you?

@dodo19 You should go back and write more for them. Especially if what you have already written is earning you some money.
