Not too much going on here.
Our housekeeper finally came on Tuesday. It's been running 3-4 weeks between visits because she's so busy with her real estate career.
Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time working on the taxes. I use an online tax preparation service; and I brought over my 2020 taxes. When I did that, however, the depreciation on the rental house, appliances, etc. did not come over. I panicked!!! I spent 1/2 hour on the phone with a tax expert from the site trying to figure out where it went. Finally had to start a whole new tax form; and the depreciation finally appeared. So I had to start all over again entering all the info; but I was so glad that the depreciation info was not lost.
I will have to have the tax expert guide me along step by step when I get to entering the sale of the other house. It's very complicated; and there are several forms and schedules that must be filled out.
What's going on with you?

Thanks, Ruby. When I'm done here I will be getting on the phone with one of their experts to have him/her guide me through the first steps of a rental sale.

@RubyHawk Yes. Otherwise I'd have to have an accountant do our taxes.

Thanks. No. I am retired. When we moved out of our old house we couldn't sell it; so we decided to rent it out. We finally got rid of it last year.

@bunnybon7 It was a pain and very expensive. We'll never rent another house again.

Doesn’t matter if you posted it before, it’s a sweet picture!
I’ll have to check Saturday night to see if my 1099 is up on OPM’s web site. If it is I can do my taxes. I like the ten-second tax preparation so much better than all the work it used to take.

I have enough to do the sale part; and that will be the hardest thing.

I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing our taxes. I’d rather have an expert deal with it.
