Is money talking ?

A few hours before, I saw a show on a television channel that told the story of a family with a low standard of living! The two husbands and wives, aged 49 and 44, who had 4 children, received an offer from a tourist, who was traveling through their locality, at least surprisingly. Seeing children, seeing the standard of living he made an offer, in money, to buy one of the children. However, the money offered covered all the family's debts. Of course, the two of them did not agree and alerted the police! Do you think there are people who would make another decision?

I read about something similar a few days ago. I won't name the country, but the father decided to sell his daughter so that the other family members 'could survive.'.

How to sell? A person is not a commodity, how can he be sold?!

@saytama Modern slavery, we all sell ourselves, in one way or another, for some poor money! In that case, he probably saw the lifestyle. . minimum!

@Kandae11 There are many cases like this. The difference is the power to hold your baby, with all the risks that will follow!

Yes I think there are people who would willingly sell their children for money but there is no guarantee that the child would be taken care of or trafficked

@soymex I think the tourist should have just donated the money freely

Yes, I have read of people who sold one of their children for money. I applaud this couple, they know that children are more important than money.

In the early 1900s, English people were giving up one or two of their children because they couldn't afford to keep them. The children were sent to Australia as immigrants. It did result in better lives for many. So it's not a new thing but not so often heard of these days.

This was the case in Romania, during Ceausescu's time, he did the same with the children of the gypsies, and deported them to marginal areas of the country!

@soymex most people would never give a child away for debt relief but there are heartless people who would.

In a normal family, no matter how hard life is, this way of making money is not an idea to accept!
