Whe volcano eruption in Tonga means that many countries have to be in alert as there could be tsunamies.
My country is a long a thin country. In one side it has the Andes mountains (with volcanoes of its own) and in the other side there´s the Pacific Ocean. That means that whenever there´s an earthquake elsewhere near the Pacific Ocean or whenever there is a volcano in any place of the world (such as Tonga now), big waves can reach our beaches and coast line.
This is specially dangerous at this time of the year because many people are in summer vacation in the beach.
The radio and TV and monitoring this but so many people are stubborn.
Let us hope that they behave now.

If the people follow rules, nothing can happen. Usually, problems of any king are caused by people who don´t care.

@marguicha Oh yes, we have plenty of those kinds of people - the ones that don't follow rules and don't care

Nothing happened. A couple of stupid people did not listen to the alarm horn and got their clothes wet. But that was all.

I hope so. But there are always stupid people everywhere. I once read about a woman dying in a zoo in your country because she wanted a selfie with the tiger

@marguicha You are so right, all those surfists hoping for high waves are an example.

Humans hate being told what to do, for the most part. Stay safe and hopefully, you're in the safe zone. We have to worry about simular during hurricane season.

Did you SEE that eruption? UNDER THE SEA????? Wow, that was unreal.
Tonga had a bad tsunami, obviously, in the aftermath. I pray everything's okay with you. I heard they canceled the tsunami watch/warning for Hawaii.
